HYDERABAD - Traders and visitors from across the country thronged the ‘All India Silk Fair 2010′, an exhibition in Hyderabad showcasing a variety of silk products from the country.

The fair began from May 12 and will showcase the products till today.

The varieties of silk products showcased in the fair are hand-made for the most part, and are attracting a lot of customers.

“Each sari is itself an art…totally hand-made. Women in the villages make these saris and 2,000-3,000 people work on 100 saris. So we get saris from there and exhibit here,” said Bipul Shaha, salesman.

The exhibitors have come from various states including Assam, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir.

“We come from all over India to exhibit kurtis (ethnic tops), cotton material, silk material. Every stall has different collection,” said Dilip, salesman.

There are different kinds of silk material including tussar, Banarasi, dharmavaram, and cotton-mixed silk in the exhibition. (ANI)
