SARGODHA - The five Americans on trial for terrorism has claimed that wedding finery and return tickets to the US proved they had nothing to do with militancy, their defence lawyer said.

The men, aged between 19 and 25 are being tried in an anti-terrorism court convened under special judge Mian Anwer Nazir in a Sargodha prison, where they were arrested in December on charges of plotting a terror attack, The Daily Times reports.

They were indicted in March and face life imprisonment if convicted.

All the men deny the charges, saying they came to Pakistan to attend a wedding and travel onto Afghanistan to do humanitarian work. (ANI)
