National Executive Committee of Samajwadi Party meets in Kolkata

KOLKATA - The National Executive Committee of the Samajwadi Party met in Kolkata on Friday to chart out the party’s strategy for assembly polls in some states during 2011and 2012.

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav presided over the proceedings in which the national scenario, economic policies of the Central Government and organisational set-up of the party was discussed.

Initially, the members of the National Executive Committee focused on the elections in the four states of West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Orissa, which is scheduled during 2011.

“Four state elections in the year 2011, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Orissa and 2012 Uttar Pradesh elections are coming; so how the party will be standing in these states, what will be the theory and set up in four states in the coming 2011 election (happens to the agenda of our meeting here),” said Kiranmoy Nanda, All India General Secretary of Samajwadi Party.

He further stated that they also discussed about the elections to the Uttar Pradesh legislature due in 2012.

The party is committed to form a government with full majority in the Uttar Pradesh, Nanda noted.

This three-day long meet concludes on Sunday. (ANI)
