Palin borrows outfit for rally after luggage lost
BOISE, Idaho — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had to borrow an outfit and delay the start of a rally in Idaho on Friday because her luggage got lost.
Republican congressional hopeful Vaughn Ward introduced Palin and said she and her family arrived on time in Boise but their bags did not.
The rally to energize Idaho voters and raise money for Vaughn started about 30 minutes late.
Palin told the crowd of about 1,500 that she had to borrow her outfit, a shimmery light-blue jacket worn over a black, knee-length dress.
Her visit came five days before Tuesday’s primary and Ward’s showdown with rival state Rep. Raul Labrador for the GOP nomination for Idaho’s 1st Congressional District.
The winner takes on first-term Democrat Walt Minnick, who doesn’t have a primary challenger.
