Prince William’s air training halted due to volcanic ash

LONDON - It has emerged Prince William’s helicopter training had to be put on hold due to the volcanic ash scare.

Wills, 27, who is an RAF officer, has lost hours of flying on his search-and-rescue course and is stuck in a classroom studying books because non-essential flying is suspended.

“It’s really frustrating. If you’re learning to fly a helicopter you want to do just that - fly,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

Even the flight simulator at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales, is booked solid.

Qualified aircrews are still answering emergencies because their Sea Kings have sand filters over their air intakes. (ANI)
