HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Pennsylvania 12th district special elections have been held and the results have also been declared. The latest news is that Mark Critz has defeated Republican candidate Tim Burns. It is being said by the political analysts that Pennsylvania is gradually becoming very conservative in nature and that the people are opting for a Democrat candidate on the seat each year.

Considering that Mark Critz had promised jobs to the middle class youth of Pennsylvania, this must have appealed to the voters there. While both candidates had announced during the campaign that their respective parties will oppose the health care reforms introduced by President Barack Obama, change in the laws of abortion and gun control were also a major issue on their minds.

It is to be remembered that Mark Critz is the former aide of Congressman John Murtha. Thus his win marks the win of the Democrats over the Republicans yet again for another year. It was being predicted during the early phase of the elections that if the Republicans could put up a brave fight this time round, there was a possibility that they could win the seat in Pennsylvania. However with the Democrat candidate Mark Critz going home with the seat in Pennsylvania, it now seems difficult for the Republicans to stage a comeback in the 12th special elections.

Tim Burns had announced during the campaign for the elections that he will repeal the healthcare policies of the American President. Today it looks like the citizens of Pennsylvania were not much convinced by his words. They would rather like a Democrat like Mark Critz to sit in Pennsylvania again.
