AirAsia Offers Million Free Seats

MALAYSIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The competition between the scores of airlines that have invaded the sky today is stiff. So to stay at the top, it is natural that all these airlines will have to put up a brave fight. AirAsia has therefore planned to introduce innovative offers to lure the common man. The latest news from the stable of Asia’s largest airline group says that AirAsia will offer free seats to its travelers. Bookings for the ‘Free Seat’ offer will begin from the today and will continue to the 23rd of this month.

According to reports this AirAsia offer will cost the airline a minimum of 2 billion baht. However they will still make an earning from the food and beverages provided during the journey. Representatives of the airline have announced that the booking for the free seats will have to be done online via the official website of AirAsia. This system is exclusive and the airline has not provided for any alternative plans. This AirAsia offer is to be provided on a ‘first come first serve basis’ and the travel dates will begin from the 3rd of January next year continuing till May 8th of 2011.

The AirAsia offer will be made available to as many as twenty countries and the airlines will provide its services across 130 routes all over the world. There are one million seats up for the offer at present, but considering the number of people interested in the offer, we will have to start booking our seats right from today. All the passengers availing the offer will however have to pay an airport tax that will be charged at different rates for different destinations.
