NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- When the cops spotted a suspicious car with a pair of gas canisters adjacent to Union Square in New York they smelt the rat and promptly cordoned off the region on Thursday. However, after they completed the investigation nothing worth danger was found. They gave all clear thereafter putting an end to the suspicion. The NYPD spokespersons affirmed the news. The vehicle was an Oldsmobile Cutlass model and the canisters were at its backside. Since Union square is a historic and important New York City intersection the streets and buildings near the car were promptly evacuated. Firemen were also called in to prevent any untoward incident and they roped off a part of the region with police tapes.
After the foiled attempt at bombing at Times Square, the cops in the USA have become very active and they do not want to take any chance. The bomb squad team was also called at the spot who were seen moving around in heavy green protective suits. The cops were able to trace the owner of the car and they asked him why he left two gas canisters at the back of his vehicle at Union Square. Paul Browne, a NYPD spokesman said that the cops interrogated the car owner thoroughly.
The reports of suspicious vehicles at key city intersections left with dubious articles have generated false alarm since the failed bombing effort at Times Square. It has been learned by the cops that the car owner left the car at Union Square and went to a concert. He did not have any other motive as such. The issue is resolved now.
