RAMNAGAR - Tourist inflow in the Jim Corbett National Park, situated in Uttarakhand’s Ramnagar District has increased, said Corbett officials on Friday.

Expressing satisfaction at the increase in tourist influx to the park, Corbett officials claimed that there was a significant rise in their numbers, as compared to last year’s statistics.

“The flow of tourists is satisfactory. We compared the statistics of this year with those of last year, and found that the numbers of tourists had increased. Also, we are glad that all rooms available have already been taken in the advance booking,” said U. C. Tiwari, Warden of the park.

Park officials also claim that Corbett’s main attractions, tigers and elephants, are also being sighted, due to which tourism is expected to increase further in the coming months.

“I had heard that the Corbett was one of the biggest wildlife parks in India. It really is a huge ecological sphere with woods, water and riverside,” said H.Glas, a tourist from Holland.

As a hub of wildlife-lovers in India, the Corbett National Park is a highly popular destination among tourists around the world.

Established in 1936, it was the first National park of Asia. It covers an area of nearly 521 square kilometres, and contains within it many breathtaking landscapes and exotic wildlife. (ANI)
