Rahul Gandhi visits murdered Congressman’s home

Pachholi Village (UP), May 13 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visited the family of late Rajan Shukla, an activist of the party at Pachholi village in Sultanpur region of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Shukla was murdered earlier this month.

He assured the family of speedy justice and asked local lawmakers to furnish all details of the killing at the earliest.

“Rahul Gandhi had come here and met the family members of Rajan Shukla and many other villagers. He got a detailed briefing of all the incidents that had taken place. Rahulji said that by the means of telephone conversation records, the matter will be investigated and full inquiry will be carried out,” said Yogendra Mishra, a lawmaker.

“After Rahulji’s visit the investigation will surely get a boost and the culprits will be punished at the earliest. If there is a lapse in the investigation then Rahulji has assured that the matter will be inquired at the central government level if the police do not investigate the matter properly,” Mishra added.

Bahujan Samaj Party lawmaker from Uttar Pradesh Chandra Prakash, has been accused of killing Shukla on May 3.

Shukla’s father had lodged a complaint against Chandra Prakash and two of his associates, claiming that there were strong political motives behind the crime. (ANI)
