Prayer ceremony for world peace held in Leh

LEH - Buddhist monks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Leh region recently organized a five-day prayer ceremony for world peace.

The annual mantra recitation ceremony for World peace “Ladakh Monlam Chenmo” was organised by ‘All Ladakh Gompa Association’.

“We are celebrating this ‘Ladakh Monlam Chenmo’ for 20 years. The main aim of this prayer is world peace,” said Geshay Konchok Namgyal, Head monk of Phyang Monastery.

During the session H.E. Tokdan Rinpoche, President of the ‘All Ladakh Gompa Association’ spoke on the path of purification of the mind emphasizing the practical aspect of teachings.

“As you all know that ‘Ladakh Monlam Chenmo’ that means a grand ritual which is celebrated in Ladakh every year. Ladakh ‘Gompa association’ has organised this and there are 15 main Gompa members,” said Tsering Chosphel, Secretary of All Ladakh Gompa Association.

The main objective for this great prayer ceremony is to help pacify the sufferings caused by nuclear weapons, evil spirits, and terrible diseases and finally to achieve the state of ultimate happiness, perfect and complete Buddha hood.

The achievement of these goals is totally dependent on the teachings of Lord Buddha, which is being preserved and is flourishing. (ANI)
