NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- In a new move, IRCTC which is a subsidiary of Indian Railway Has decided to revamp the menus in Shatabdi Express trains that ply between the metros and prominent cities in India. These trains are meant for the elite passengers who do not mind paying steep fares for fast and comfortable journey. To make the journey of the customers even more enjoyable IRCTC has plans to add new items to the Shatabdi Express menu. Railways officials are thinking about altering the menu in breakfast and dinner in these trains from time to time so that the passengers do not get bored of the same food being served always. However, the change will not be seen in all the Shatabdi Expess trains that run in the country. Initially, the revamped menu will be offered by IRCTC in the Delhi-Kalka and Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Trains.
IRCTC thinks that the passengers who avail Shatabdi Express trains frequently will be pleased by this offering. The menu is likely to be revamped with popular South Indian as well as Continental foods. The idea is also to cater to the foreigners who travel India by superfast trains. Indian Railways have taken the decision also after receiving complaints in the food on the luxury and superfast trains. It would observe the response of the passengers to the revamped menu and if it clicks well with them the change may be applied to other fast trains in coming days.
IRCTC wants to change the impression people have regarding the quality of foods served on long distance trains. That is why this initiative has been planned.
