‘Iron Man 2′ tops weekend with $128.1M debut

LOS ANGELES — “Iron Man 2″ dominated the weekend box office. The sequel starring Robert Downey Jr. as Marvel billionaire superhero Tony Stark debuted with $128.1 million, landing the record for the fifth-biggest opening weekend behind “The Dark Knight,” ”Spider-Man 3,” ”The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Hollywood.com are:
