North Korea confirms Kim Jong Il’s unofficial visit to China

PYONGYANG - North Korea’s official KCNA news agency confirmed Friday that the country’s leader Kim Jong Il paid an unofficial visit to China from May 3 to 7.

It said Kim, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defense Commission, visited the northeastern port city of Dalian in Liaoning province and the municipality of Tianjin, also a port city in northern China.

According to Xinhua, in Dalian, Kim Jong Il had a bird’s eye-view of the city and visited several enterprises. In Tianjin, he had a tour of the port area. (ANI)
