Cinco De Mayo Celebrations Today

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- Cinco De mayo which used to be a Mexican festival earlier has become popular in the states of North America in recent times. It is held to commemorate the historic win of the Mexican army at the 1862 battle of Puebla where they defeated the French. In places such as Los Angeles it is no less popular compared with St. Patrick’s Day and similar occasions. Today it is being celebrated in Mexico and several states of the USA. It has been reported that Barack Obama, the US president will also attend a traditional celebration of Cinco De mayo in White House in the evening.

The foodies who love gorging on authentic Mexican foods can visit the Mexican restaurants and eating outlets in North America. The restaurants have be decorated and revamped to cater to the customers. Chris Meisner who works as the manager of a West Charleston Boulevard restaurant is offering the customers with a wide range of drinks to pick from. Apart from that, there will be live music performances. The expected number of customers can go well above 1000. The regional restaurants are offering taco dishes. Macayo’s restaurants with three outlets in New York are offering margaritas under $5 and dinner at a rate of $5.55. The restaurants are also offering exclusive menu for Cinco De mayo.

Quite a number of Mexican restaurants and casinos in North America have opted for musical shows involving models and singers. This will result in added footfall and sales. Cinco De mayo is also celebrated in Vancouver, Malta, Cayman Islands and some other places.
