GANDHINAGAR - A four-day meeting of forensic and security experts from SAARC countries organised with the help of the Interpol headquarters, France and the Gujarat Forensic Science University will be held here from Tuesday, an official said Monday.

The meet aims to promote the use of DNA, DVI (disaster victim identification) and fingerprints in identification in Asia, the official added.

The meeting, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, will be attended by two representatives each from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, said Gujarat Forensic Science University registrar Mehul Dave.

Dave said Interpol had invited 10 officers from India, including four from Gujarat, to visit their headquarters. He expressed satisfaction that even before the Gujarat Forensic Science University could complete a year of its existence, it had received recognition from the international policing body for holding such a meet.
