Seven policemen injured as mob attacks police station in Patna

PATNA - At least seven policemen were injured when residents of Ramdhani Road protesting the murder of a local man, attacked the Malasalami police station here with stones on Friday.

Vijay Kumar Yadav was shot dead by unidentified gunmen here this orning

Police resorted to a baton-charge and fired bullets in the air to control the mob, which dispersed later.

“He (Vijay Kumar Yadav) was eyewitness to a murder. He received a phone call today morning, saying that he should take 20 lakh rupees and turn hostile, but he refused. That’s why he was murdered in the morning,” said Aditya Kumar, a relative of the deceased.

Locals complained that Yadav told the police many times that his life threatened, but the police did not provide him any extra security.

Yadav’s body was taken to a local hospital for post-mortem (ANI)
