News Corp. Web security chief to become adviser

NEW YORK — News Corp. said Tuesday that its chief security officer, Hemanshu Nigam, will transition to an advisory role effective May 1 so he can consult other companies on Internet safety.

Nigam was credited with leading safety initiatives at social networking hub MySpace and other of News Corp.’s Internet businesses after joining the company in 2006. He helped implement technology that protected online communities from sexual predators, it said.

His replacement is expected to be announced soon.
