BETHESDA, Md. — Micromet Inc. said Friday that board member Otello Stampacchia has resigned.

The biopharmaceutical company said Stampacchia decided to step down because he has taken on more duties as an adviser to Omega Funds, a venture capital firm.

Stampacchia had served on Micromet’s board since May 2006.
