Online meds sales in 7 states, PR, charged in Ohio

CLEVELAND — Federal agents in Ohio say they have broken up drugs-on-demand operations in seven states and Puerto Rico that made use of the Internet and phony prescriptions.

One of two indictments announced Thursday charges 12 people, including doctors, and two companies — USMeds LLC and Brennan & DePaoli Inc. The defendants are accused of illegally selling painkillers and other drugs online.

The second indictment charges a Cleveland-area dentist, his assistant and a third person with dealing in painkillers through phony prescriptions.

Besides in Ohio and Puerto Rico, the defendants were from Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, and New Jersey.
