Pak Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee satisfied with military’s operational capabilities

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) has reviewed the security situation in the country, taking stock of the evolving internal and external challenges and the possible responses.
The JCSC meeting was presided over by its chairman General Tariq Majid.
It was attended by Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Navy Chief Admiral Noman Bashir, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Defence Secretary Iskander Mirza, Inter Services Intelligence Director-General, Strategic Plans Division Director-General, Joint Staff Director-General and other senior military officials.
According to reports, the meeting expressed satisfaction over the operational capabilities of the armed forces and discussed in detail various measures to effectively tackle the challenges.
The committee also dwelled on the ongoing operations in Fata and Swat, where considerable space had been created for the commencement of development work, The Dawn reports.
The meeting also focussed on the army exercise ‘Azm-i-Nau III’. (ANI)
