Prisoners break out of UP jail

SIDDHARTH NAGAR - Three inmates of Siddharth Nagar district jail in Uttar Pradesh escaped after making a hole in the outer walls of the jail on Saturday.

Out of three inmates, Hari Ram, Ramzan Ali and Tej Bahadur, two were under trial.

According to the officials, a magisterial inquiry would be carried out to trace them and action would be taken against the jail staff complicit in their escape.

“The prisoner and the inmates who were under trial are Hari Ram, Tej Bahadur and Ramzan Ali. They escaped by driving a hole in the outer walls of the prison. A magisterial inquiry would be carried out by Senior District Magistrate…Also, strict action would be taken against the jail staff who helped them,” said Shashikant Sharma, District Magistrate.

The whole area has been cordoned off. (ANI)
