Correction: Obit-Perez Grillo story
NEW YORK — In an April 7 obituary for Afro-Cuban singer Graciela Perez Grillo, The Associated Press erroneously described titles of her best-known music. “Esta es Graciela” (This is Graciela), “Intimo y sentimental” (Intimate and Sentimental) and “Yo soy asi” (That’s the Way I Am) are the names of her albums, not songs. The story also incorrectly reported how she launched her career. She began playing bass and singing with an all-female band in Havana before moving to New York in 1942 to continue her career.
