Gannett’s digital chief to leave company

NEW YORK — Gannett Co.’s chief digital officer plans to leave the company at the end of the month, according to a securities filing made Wednesday.

Christopher Saridakis was named to the position in 2008. He was responsible for expanding the newspaper publisher’s online offerings. Saridakis was previously CEO of PointRoll Inc., an advertising company.

The filing said Saridakis is stepping down to pursue other interests and did not elaborate. A message left with Gannett was not immediately returned Wednesday.

The company’s stock rose 18 cents to $17.52 in afternoon trading.
