Report: Questrom will leave Wal-Mart board

NEW YORK — Former J.C. Penney CEO Allen Questrom won’t seek reelection to Wal-Mart’s board of directors, according to a news report.

Women’s Wear Daily reported Tuesday that Questrom will step down three years after joining the board in 2007.

Wal-Mart Stores said it had no comment. Questrom did not immediately return a call for comment.

Questrom, 70, was chairman and CEO of J.C. Penney Co. from 2000 to December 2004 and before served in the same capacity at Barneys, Neiman Marcus Group Inc. and Federated Department Stores Inc., whose name is now Macy’s Inc.

He is a senior adviser at Lee Equity Partners in New York.

Wal-Mart Stores shares rose a penny to $55.50 during midday trading.
