SHIMLA - Tiger Rapta, who hails from the Chopal region of Shimla District, is being considered as the next star wrestler of Himachal Pradesh after the ‘Great Khali’.

Rapta has exhibited his wrestling talent at both the national and international levels. He has been wrestling in South Africa and on the reality show ‘100% De Dhana-Dhan’ for the last three years.

Shimla gave a warm welcome to Rapta on Tuesday.

“I am very happy that I have performed well at national and international levels. I am also a simple man like my young friends here; I thank them for giving me a warm welcome,” said Rapta.

“I am getting offers from Bollywood, I am working in few of them but my main concentration would be only on wrestling. I would like to do something for wrestling. Recently, I have opened a company - IPW (Indian Professional Wrestling) - for easy coaching,” he added.

Despite getting offers from Bollywood, Rapta says he wants to achieve more in wrestling, like the ‘Great Khali’.

“Tiger Rapta is the pride, not only for our state but also for the country. This show ‘100% De Dhana-Dhan’ has brought him fame. This television show is popular among the youth in our town,” said Sanat Kainat, a local youth.

“We are very happy to receive the wrestling star here in hometown after three years,” he added.

Rapta said he plans to open a wrestling institute in Himachal Pradesh and is trying to get in touch with Great Khali for the same. (ANI)
