Pak sacks Deputy Attorney General Khawar

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Government has sacked Deputy Attorney General Shah Khawar, but made him a Tax Tribunal member in Peshawar.

Khawar had appeared before the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and missing person’s cases before the Supreme Court.

Khawar said acting Attorney General K.K. Agha had asked him for the records of the missing persons’ case, which indicated a government move to remove him from office, The Dawn reports.

According to reports, Khawar said he would prefer practicing as a lawyer.

Meanwhile, senior Multan lawyer Ilyas Khan and Advocate Chaudhry Mazhar have been appointed Deputy Attorney Generals. (ANI)
