PUNE - Pune Police on Saturday arrested the main accused behind the alleged gang rape of a 25-year old Masters in Business Administration (MBA) woman graduate.

The third man was identified as 32-year old Subhash Bhonsle, who has eleven criminal cases registered against him, including robbery and extortion.

Police said Bhonsle’s car was used to carry out the heinous crime.

Police had earlier detained two persons and placed them in police custody for further interrogation.

The woman had charged three men of raping her after abducting her on Thursday.

She had returned from the US a month ago, had a job interview and took a cab at Wakad at around 4.30 p.m. Three men were inside the cab as due to the poor transport system in Pune, it is quite common to share cabs.

She alleged that she was taken to an unknown location, raped till midnight and then dropped at an unknown location.

A complaint was filed with the Hinjewadi Police Station.

The woman’s husband is presently in the United States. She belongs to Nagpur. (ANI)
