Mercedes-Benz sales grow 28 percent in March on higher demand for C-Class sedans and SUVs

MONTVALE, N.J. — Mercedes-Benz USA said Thursday that its March sales rose 28 percent on higher demand for its luxury sedans and sport utility vehicles.
The German automaker reported monthly sales of 20,023 vehicles. It posted big gains on models like the C-Class sedan and GL-Class SUV.
TOP SELLER: The Mercedes-Benz C-Class, with 6,006 sold. The company considers its lowest-priced sedan a “gateway” vehicle for younger and first-time Mercedes-Benz buyers.
HOT MODELS: The E-Class. A step up from the C-Class, buyers picked up 5,042 of the luxury sedans, a 154 percent increase over March 2009.
