GAYA - Villagers rescued two children who were abducted by officials of a stone-crushing plant reportedly for human sacrifice in Bihar’s Gaya District on Saturday.
The villagers alleged that the owner and employees of the plant, situated in the Manpur region of the district, had abducted the children of a nearby village to sacrifice them. The police, however, said that nothing has been proved so far, and a detailed inquiry was required.
“We received the information that two children have been abducted. When we reached here, we came to know from their guardian that they have been hidden for sacrifice. But all this is just initial information; a detailed enquiry is essential in this. And to accept this version as truth or to condemn the act, would not be right,” said Gajendra Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO), Gaya.
One of the rescued boys said that that they were lured with sweets and were locked in an enclosure.
“They called us to do some work. And after that they locked us into an enclosure. They said they’d sacrifice us,” said Meethu, one of the rescued boys. (ANI)
