GHAZIABAD - Bharatiya Janshakti President Uma Bharti has written a letter to Sanghpriya Gautam, the acting president of the party, seeking a break from the party in view of the political situation in the country and her present state of health.

In her letter to Gautam, Bharti said: “My responsibility of being Bharatiya Janshakti President and my earnest desire for introspection and contemplation with a free mind is putting too much strain on my body and mind.”

Bharti requested Gautam to appoint Baburam Nishad as the president of the party.

Sources close to her said that her decision to quit maybe linked to her desire to rejoin the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which she quit in 2005. (ANI)
