ISLAMABAD - At least 10 militants were killed in a clash with security forces in northwest Pakistan’s tribal area Wednesday.
Fifteen other militants were also injured during the exchange of fire in Orakzai tribal agency, Xinhua news agency reported.
US drones Tuesday night fired two missiles at militant hideouts in North Waziristan tribal agency, killing at least six people, security officials said.
Pakistani security forces are conducting search operations in the country’s restive northwest, believed to be the centre of Taliban and Al Qaeda remnants. The army has claimed clearance in some areas but militants are still active in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.
