Israeli prime minister in Washington for talks
WASHINGTON — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington for talks with the Obama administration.
Netanyahu’s arrival Monday coincides with a difficult period in U.S.-Israel relations, aggravated by Israel’s announcement of plans for new Jewish homes in east Jerusalem, which the Palestinians want as the capital of a future state
The prime minister will meet with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday afternoon, then have dinner with Vice President Joe Biden Monday night. He will also give a speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel group.
