Hexion raises prices on polymers

NEW YORK — Hexion Specialty Chemical Inc.’s said Friday it was raising prices of its emulsion polymers in North America.

Prices will increase by 7 cents per wet pound for acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acrylic and other polymers used in the adhesives, textiles, nonwovens and construction markets, the company said in a release.

The hikes are effective April 1 or as contracts allow.

The company said the move was necessary as a result of higher costs for raw materials.
