LUCKNOW - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has called a meeting of state cabinet ministers and BSP Members of Parliament (MPs) on Wednesday at her residence.

A giant garland, used to honour Mayawati during the Bahujan Samaj Party’s silver jubilee celebrations on Monday led to a new controversy, as it was alleged to have been made of Rs.1,000 Indian currency notes.

Income tax officials have reportedly been ordered to investigate the source from which the cash garland that was presented to Mayawati materialized.

Meanwhile, Mayawati has ordered the Deputy Inspector General of Police to find out how the swarm of bees surrounded her on stage as she delivered her speech to an audience of about 500,000 people.

Mayawati suspects a conspiracy by her rivals in the bee swarm.

According to sources, her advisors fear that beehives near the stadium, where Mayawati held her party’s silver jubilee, were deliberately set on fire.

Mayawati’s bee mischief theory is being seen as an attempt to sway attention from the garland controversy. (ANI)
