Qwest tenders $959.5M of notes by early deadline
DENVER — Telecommunications company Qwest Communications International Inc. said Wednesday that it tendered $959.5 million worth of notes by an early deadline.
Qwest said that before 5 p.m. on Tuesday it tendered $338 million, or 84 percent, of outstanding 7.9 percent notes due this year, and $621.5 million, or 78 percent, of outstanding 7.25 percent notes due next year.
All the notes were accepted for purchase, Qwest said.
The company said those who validly tendered and didn’t withdraw their notes on or before the Tuesday deadline would be paid on Wednesday.
Qwest said the offer is expected to expire at 5 p.m. on March 24. On that date, note holders who validly tender notes after the early deadline will be paid.
