PATNA - Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government on Wednesday suspended party member Sadhu Yadav for speaking against the government on the issue of the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Sources said the Congress Government has sent a notice to Sadhu Yadav in this regard, charging him of speaking against the party line.
Reports say that Yadav, who was not in favour of the Women Reservation Bill spoke against the Central Government on the issue.
Yadav, however, says that he has not received any official notice and is still with the Congress Government.
“I am still with the Congress party and there is no news about my resignation,” said Yadav.
“I did not speak anything going against the party,” he added.
Sadhu Yadav, who is the brother-in-law of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, contested the election on a Congress ticket that he lost.
He was earlier in the Rashtriya Janata Dal party prior to joining the Congress. (ANI)
