LONDON - British toddler James Bulger’s killer, 27-year-old Jon Venables, has been put back in prison after being accused of child porn crimes.

Venables was returned to prison nine years after he was released on licence with a new identity after serving eight years for the murder of the toddler on Merseyside in 1993.

His recall came after “extremely serious allegations”, according to British Justice Secretary Jack Straw.

According to The Telegraph, Ministers have not confirmed exactly why Venables was returned to jail, a decision that has infuriated Bulger’s mother, Denise Fergus.

She has now called for an end to Venables’ anonymity, accusing the government of treating him “like a celebrity”.

There are fears his recall could see his new identity being discovered because of fellow prisoners’ suspicions about special treatment.

Reports have claimed he worked as a nightclub bouncer under his new identity, and that he has even revealed his past to others.

Mrs. Fergus, 42, said: “Breaching his parole should be an end to the anonymity that he was granted on the excuse that he committed a murder as a child. This conspiracy between the Government, the courts and a criminal is disgusting and an insult to justice. If Venables is going to be in court I want to be there to see justice done. He is not some kind of celebrity but that still the way they are treating him.” (ANI)
