Uttar Pradesh’s ATS nabs Delhi serial blasts accused

LUCKNOW - Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has taken into its custody Indian Mujahideen militant Salman, a key accused in the 2008 Delhi serial blasts case.

Salman, who had received arms training in Pakistan, was wanted in several other cases as well by the Delhi Police.

Acting on a tip off, the ATS squad arrested Salman from Badhni area along Indo-Nepal border on Friday evening.

Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Brij Lal said, “Salman alias Chottu, an active member of Indian Mujahideen and wanted by Delhi police in the serial blasts case, was arrested from Badhni area along Indo-Nepal border last evening.”

“The ATS yesterday received a tip off that Salman would reach Badhni railway station where a trap was laid and he was finally arrested,” he added.

Delhi Police had announced a reward of Rs 1,00,000 on his head. (ANI)
