February Auto Sales: Chrysler

NEW YORK — Chrysler on Tuesday reported a slight increase in U.S. sales last month, as stronger demand for 10 models was offset by steep declines for others.

BY THE NUMBERS: Chrysler Group, which includes the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands, reported U.S. sales of 84,449 vehicles, compared with sales of 84,050 in February 2009. The sales are up 48 percent from January.

TOP SELLERS: Sales of the Sebring more than doubled to 3,160. Jeep’s biggest increase was its Compass model, which had sales of 1,911, also more than double the year before. The Dodge Avenger led sales in that division, with a 78 percent increase.
