ISLAMABAD - PML-Q MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram has slammed Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for “moving around” with a chief of a banned terrorist organization along with his police escort.
“Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has been showing a terrorist around the city escorted by police. This is how we are fighting the war against terrorism,” the Daily Times quoted Akram, as saying.
“The terrorist was either the chief of the Sipah-e-Sahaba, the Millat-e-Islamia or the Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, all of which are banned outfits but the Punjab law minister is developing close ties with the man just to secure a few hundred votes,” he added.
Akram urged the Pakistan government to write a letter to the Punjab government, asking the provincial government to clear its position on the issue.
Minister of State for Interior, Tasneem Qureshi, seconded Akram’s allegations, and assured the House that action would be taken in the light of the inquiry report. (ANI)
