PATNA - Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the State Government would work for the settlement of the members of nomadic tribes.

Kumar said that his government was ready for the uplift of marginalized and socially backward nomadic tribes.

“I have already directed to conduct the census of nomadic tribes…the government will also try to settle the members of nomadic tribes on a permanent basis,” Kumar said in an address at Maha-Dalit rally here on Sunday.

He said a survey would be conducted to know the exact number of nomad community residing in the State, with efforts to settle them permanently.

Meanwhile, the Dalits said that they turned up to voice their concerns to the provincial government.

“We are from a low caste community, we don’t have home and jobs. Our children are rickshaw and cart pullers and we came here to convey our concerns,” said Sita Devi.

Nomadic tribes refer to the people who are forced to live a wandering life. (ANI)
