Security beefed up in Uttar Pradesh to counter Maoist threat

LUCKNOW - Security has been beefed up and patrolling intensified in the border areas of three districts of Sonebhadra, Chandauli and Mirzapur following the recent Maoist attacks in West Bengal and Bihar.

The police and paramilitary forces have stepped up their security arrangements to foil the banned outfit’s designs in the state.

Six companies of CRPF and 13 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary of state police have already been deployed to maintain law and order in these areas.

According to sources authorities are also in touch with Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh in sharing intelligence inputs over the Maoist activity. (ANI)
