Icahn Enterprises to redeem preferred units

NEW YORK — Icahn Enterprises LP said Friday that it plans to issue a notice of redemption for outstanding preferred units on Monday.

The units are 5 percent cumulative pay-in-kind redeemable preferred units. They represent limited partnership interests in Icahn Enterprises. The redemption date for the preferred units is March 31 and the redemption price is $10.50 per preferred unit.

The company said the redemption price will be paid in depositary units representing limited partnership interests in Icahn Enterprises.

Icahn Enterprises is a holding company with investments in real estate, autos and other industries.

Shares closed down $1.20, or 2.5 percent, at $46.77.
