Ford says F-150 Raptor sales top expectations
DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford said on Friday that it has received more than 5,300 orders for its new F-150 SVT Raptor, more than it had expected.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the popularity of the F-150 SVT Raptor,” said Mark Grueber, marketing manager for the F-150 truck.
Grueber said the orders have been stronger than expected in the Midwest and Southeast.
He said Ford wound up building more 5.4 liter V-8 models of the high-speed off-road performance truck than it had expected. Ford plans to begin producing a version with a 6.2 liter engine in the spring.
Ford shares fell 9 cents to close at $11.29 on Friday.
