Palin seeks Johnston’s financial records
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The lawyer representing Sarah Palin’s daughter in a child support battle is seeking financial statements from Playgirl magazine, CNN and other media companies.
Bristol Palin’s attorney, Thomas Van Flein, wants subpoenas for financial records to determine an appropriate level of child support from Levi Johnston, who fathered a child with her.
Johnston has posed nude for Playgirl and given extensive interviews to media outlets since he and Palin split. She is seeking nearly $1,700 a month from Johnston, retroactive to the birth of their son, Tripp, in December 2008.
Johnston has acknowledged making about $101,000 last year but argues his income is erratic. He’s paid $4,400 in child support.
The filing was first reported by the celebrity Web site www.tmz.com.
