ISLAMABAD - Unmanned US drones continue to pound the restive North Waziristan, as three more Taliban insurgents were killed in Tabi Ghundi Kala village near Miramshah, the main town of the province.
This is the second such strike in the region in the last three days.
According to local security officials, the US drones targeted a vehicle just when it leaving the village.
“The US drone fired one missile, which hit a vehicle. According to our reports, three Taliban were killed,” The Daily Times quoted a security officer, as saying.
Some locals put the death toll to four.
Some unconfirmed reports said that the vehicle had actually hit a landmine resulting in the huge explosion.
The frequency of the missile hits has increased considerably in the region since a suicide bomber targeted a CIA base in Afghanistan’s Khost region killing some of the important members of the investigative agency. (ANI)
