Pune blast victim Abhishek Saxena’s teacher mourns his death

PUNE - Teacher of 24-year-old Abhishek Saxena, who died in the Pune blast, is yet to come to terms with the loss.

Saxena, a student of D. Y. Patil College and resident of Lucknow succumbed to injuries in the city-based Dudhrani hospital.

“This is a very tragic news for all of us. He was a very sincere student; he was studying in third year. His father is not alive; his mother is in Lucknow. So, we informed them with heavy heart,” said Narendra Kumar Shinde, lecturer at D. Y. Patil College.

“His body was completely charred, we just saw it. It would be a great loss for the college and in fact for everybody… we are very sad after listening the news,” he added.

As per the latest reports, the body has been handed over to his family.

The blast, which killed ten people and wounded at least 57, is seen as the first major attack on India since the 2008 Mumbai terrors attack.

The restaurant is located in the posh neighborhood of Koregaon Park, close to the Osho Ashram and Chabad House, a Jewish prayer house, where numerous foreigners and tourists frequent both these places. (ANI)
