NEW DELHI - Prior to finalising the railway budget, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to meet industry representatives on Saturday.

Banerjee will meet representatives from chambers of commerce including CII, ASSOCHAM and FICCI in an exercise that is likely to see the industry, as it comes out of recession, pressing for more concessions from railways.

There are reports that around 600 members are likely to attend the meet that will be held at the Eco Park in Chanakyapuri.

The current proposal of the railways to engage the industry through PPP model for the development of infrastructure would figure prominently in the pre-budget exercise.

Railway budget will be presented on February 24. (ANI)
