Tampa (Florida, US), - A brouhaha has surfaced over US President Barack Obama seemingly bowing to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio at the MacDill Air Force Base.

Obama is shown greeting Mayor Iorio last week.

Right-leaning media outlets quickly pounced on the event.

“The mayor of Tampa isn’t a Third World potentate, totalitarian dictator, or terrorist leader so I can’t understand why Obama would be in full-bow mode,” a post on the conservative blog Red State read.

It added: “Is bowing now the standard way the President greets people these days?”

Fox and Friends aired the photo and revisited past Obama-bowing controversies with a montage of shots in which the President is supposedly bowing.

“Originally people said, you know, the Pesident of the United States bows to no one,” said host Steve Doocy. “But, as it turns out, he bows to everybody.”

“We’ve seen it too many times now,” co-host Alisyn Camerota added.

Obama’s previous bows to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and Japan’s Emperor Akihito drew the right’s ire, with conservative pundits accusing the President of inappropriately cow-towing to foreign leaders. (ANI)
